    Ik heb jullie berichtjes zo zitten lezen en dat er regelmalig aanvullingen zouden zijn.

    Bij mij is het omgekeerde het geval.

    Famile van mij (Derogee) is in 1920 met de ss Rotterdam naar Amerika geëmigreerd en had ze ook inderdaad bij Ellis Islands gevonden. Maar, ik denk al ruim een jaar, komen ze niet meer op de lijst voor. Ik heb er nog wel eens een mailtje naar toe gestuurd, maar mijn Engels is niet wat het wezen moet.

    Ik vraag mij dus af hoe dat dan kan dat er mensen die eerst bij Ellis Islands voorkwamen en niet meer bij staan. Dus hieruit blijkt dat ze ook gegevens verwijderen.

    Gelukkig heb ik, toen we 6 jaar geleden in Amerika waren, en daar de familie bezochten (dus achternichten en -neven van mij) een reisverslag van de familie gevonden uit 1920 en zo precies hebben kunnen lezen wat ze mee hebben gemaakt tijdens hun reis naar Amerika.

    Dat is inderdaad vreemd, dat er gegevens verdwenen zijn. Maar toch leuk, dat je alsnog via een andere weg de belevenissen van je familieleden hebt kunnen traceren. Zelf hoop ik ook ooit nog eens contact te leggen met nazaten van de door mij gezochte mensen om wat meer over hun reis en wederwaardigheden te weten te komen. Wie weet, reis ik er ooit naar toe om eens zelf te gaan kijken!
